PlanTrace

PlanTrace is a web app (with optional mobile companion) for urban design teams to track, compare, and justify design changes across iterations of site plans, streetscapes, and public-realm concepts. Users upload PDFs/DWG exports and tag key elements (setbacks, curb lines, tree pits, ADA ramps, loading zones). The app generates a structured change log, highlights geometry shifts, and links each change to a rationale (code note, stakeholder request, cost constraint) and evidence (meeting minutes, email, markups). It outputs a “decision trail” packet that planners and reviewers can actually follow, reducing the endless back-and-forth that kills schedules. This is a combination traditional + AI app: AI helps detect and classify changes and auto-summarize rationale, but the workflow stays human-auditable. It’s not glamorous, but it targets a real bottleneck: coordination and accountability across revisions.
