PlaquePulse
PlaquePulse is a mobile app that maps nearby historical markers, plaques, memorials, and heritage sites and turns them into short, walkable “micro-tours.” Users scan a plaque (or tap it on the map) to unlock a concise story, archival photos, and context like “why this mattered” and “what changed since.” The AI component helps generate readable summaries from public-domain sources and user-submitted links, but every entry is clearly labeled as AI-assisted and can be community-corrected. The app focuses on what’s already physically present in cities—plaques are everywhere, but most people ignore them. Monetization is realistic: city tourism boards, museums, and local sponsors can pay for featured tours; power users can subscribe for offline packs and curated routes. This is not a replacement for museums—it's a lightweight companion for everyday streets.
