PlateProof

PlateProof is a mobile + web app for gyms and training facilities to track high-loss training equipment (plates, collars, bands, kettlebells, specialty bars) with fast check-in/out and real-time location status. Staff and members scan QR/NFC tags when taking gear to a zone (rack 3, turf, studio) and when returning it. The app highlights “missing” items by last-seen zone and time, flags chronic problem areas, and generates weekly loss/usage reports that justify replacements with data instead of guesswork. It also supports simple maintenance logs (e.g., frayed bands, loose collars) and auto-reminders for inspections. This isn’t glamorous—most gyms won’t do it unless it’s frictionless—so the UX is built around 2-second scans, kiosk mode on an old phone, and minimal setup. Monetization is a subscription per location with optional tag bundles.
