PlateProof
PlateProof is a mobile + web AI app that helps printmakers preview how a relief/linocut/woodcut plate will actually print before they ink and burn through paper. You photograph your carved block (or upload a scan), then the app simulates common inking and printing variables: ink coverage, brayer pressure, paper absorbency, and typical loss of fine detail. It outputs a realistic proof preview, plus a “problem map” highlighting likely fill-in, weak lines, and uneven ink. It also generates a simple adjustment checklist (e.g., carve deeper in specific areas, lighten ink load, change direction of rolling). This is not a magic “make art for you” tool; it’s a practical troubleshooting assistant for beginners and intermediate printmakers who waste time and materials learning by trial-and-error. The MVP focuses on linocut/woodcut first because the visual physics are more predictable than intaglio.
