PlayPortals is a mobile app that delivers “interactive episodes” for kids ages 5–10, turning ordinary rooms into themed missions using simple props (paper, tape, pillows) and optional printable cards. Each episode mixes short audio drama, on-screen mini-games, and physical challenges (hide-and-seek clues, scavenger hunts, movement tasks) that parents can set up in 5 minutes. Kids progress through a story by completing tasks, scanning QR/marker cards, and unlocking sound effects, character messages, and badges. A parent mode provides step-by-step setup, safety tips, and a “quiet mode” for apartments. It’s not trying to be full AR magic; it’s a realistic hybrid of guided play + lightweight computer vision to keep costs low and reliability high. Monetization is a subscription with new episodes weekly plus seasonal packs.
