PlugOrPass

PlugOrPass is a mobile + web app that compares hybrids and plug-in hybrids using your real driving and charging reality, not brochure MPG. You enter your commute pattern, typical speeds, climate, parking situation, and whether you can reliably charge at home/work. The app then estimates true electric miles used, gas miles, fuel cost, electricity cost, and total cost of ownership across multiple trims. It also flags “marketing traps” like tiny batteries that rarely get charged, or PHEVs that only win if you plug in daily. Results include a simple break-even timeline versus a comparable non-hybrid and a confidence score based on how complete your inputs are. It’s brutally honest: if your situation won’t benefit, it tells you to skip the hybrid and why. Monetization is a paid report and affiliate leads to insurers/chargers, without pay-to-rank vehicle results.
