PodRights

PodRights helps podcasters and small networks legally use music and audio clips without spending weeks emailing labels or risking takedowns. It’s a web app with a lightweight mobile companion that lets creators search a catalog of pre-cleared tracks and sound beds, generate a license in minutes, and attach proof-of-license to an episode export. For clips that aren’t in the catalog, PodRights provides a guided “rights request” workflow: identify the work, propose usage terms, route to the correct rights holder, and track status. It also includes a compliance checker that flags common red zones (intro music, background beds, YouTube rips) and produces a simple audit trail for sponsors and platforms. This is not a magic wand—many rights holders won’t respond—but it drastically reduces the time and uncertainty for the cases that can be cleared.
