PolicyMeter

PolicyMeter is a web app (with optional Slack/Teams integration) for cloud spend governance that focuses on prevention, not reporting. It connects to AWS, Azure, and GCP billing + org accounts, then lets finance and platform teams define guardrails: budget caps by team/project, mandatory tags, allowed instance families, region restrictions, and approval thresholds for high-risk services. When a change or new resource violates policy, PolicyMeter can block it via IaC checks (Terraform/CloudFormation) or auto-open an approval workflow with clear cost impact. It also produces audit-ready evidence: who approved what, when, and why, mapped to internal controls. This is not a “pretty dashboard”; it’s a control plane to stop waste and enforce accountability across engineering and finance without endless meetings and spreadsheet policing.
