PolicyPilot is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that helps government teams and think tanks design better policies by running structured “pre-mortems” and impact checklists, then generating plain-language briefs for decision-makers. Users define a policy proposal, target population, constraints, and success metrics. The app guides them through evidence prompts (what data exists, what’s missing), stakeholder mapping, implementation risks, and equity/rights considerations. An AI layer drafts alternative options, identifies likely failure points, and produces a one-page memo plus a public-facing summary. It also tracks assumptions and creates an audit trail of why choices were made—useful when leadership changes or scrutiny arrives. This is not a magic policy oracle: it’s a disciplined workflow tool that reduces sloppy thinking, speeds documentation, and makes tradeoffs explicit. It’s designed for small teams that lack dedicated policy analysts but still need defensible outputs.
