PolicyPlug
PolicyPlug is a web app plus CI plugin that enforces security, privacy, and marketplace compliance rules for plugins/extensions before release. It scans extension bundles and source repos for risky permissions, hidden network calls, telemetry, license conflicts, and policy red flags (e.g., Chrome Web Store, VS Code Marketplace, Atlassian, Shopify). It generates a human-readable “review packet” with a diff-based permission rationale, data-flow summary, and a checklist mapped to each platform’s latest rules. Teams can set org policies (e.g., “no remote code eval,” “no broad host permissions,” “no PII logging”) and block merges/releases when violations appear. It also keeps an audit trail for security reviews and customer questionnaires. This is a combination traditional + AI app: deterministic scanners for accuracy, with AI only for summarization, rationale drafting, and mapping findings to policy language.
