PolicyPulse is a web app (with an optional mobile-friendly portal) that helps libraries publish and maintain a single, searchable source of truth for lending rules, fines, renewals, holds, device loans, meeting rooms, and edge-case exceptions. Staff can edit policies in plain language, attach sources (board policy PDFs, ILS settings screenshots), and track versions over time. Patrons get a simple Q&A-style search that returns the exact rule, not a vague FAQ page. An AI layer can suggest rewrites for clarity, flag contradictions (e.g., loan periods that don’t match), and generate short “what this means for you” summaries, but humans approve everything. This is not glamorous, but it reduces front-desk interruptions, inconsistent answers across branches, and angry patron escalations caused by unclear rules. It integrates via links/embeds into the library website and can be deployed per system or consortium.
