PolicyPulse

PolicyPulse is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that helps advocates, journalists, and community groups monitor civil-rights-related legislation and local policy changes in near real time. It aggregates bills, committee agendas, hearing schedules, and voting records across jurisdictions, then turns them into plain-language summaries with clear “what changed” diffs between versions. Users can set alerts by topic (policing, voting access, housing discrimination, disability rights), geography, and specific lawmakers. The app includes a lightweight action workflow: generate a call script, email template, and meeting brief tailored to the user’s district, plus a shareable one-page explainer for community outreach. This is a combination traditional + AI app: AI is used for summarization, change detection, and drafting outreach materials, while the core value is reliable data ingestion and structured tracking. It’s not a magic solution—coverage gaps and messy local data are real—but it saves hours every week for teams that currently do this manually.
