PolicyPup is a mobile + web app that turns confusing pet insurance policies into clear, actionable coverage answers at the point of care. Users upload their policy PDF and recent vet estimate/invoice; the app extracts key terms (deductible, reimbursement, exclusions, waiting periods) and produces a plain-English “likely covered / likely denied” breakdown with citations to the exact policy clauses. It also generates a pre-claim checklist (required records, itemized invoice format, medical notes) and a submission-ready packet to reduce back-and-forth with insurers. This is an AI + traditional app: AI handles document parsing and clause-to-bill matching, while deterministic rules enforce conservative recommendations. The app is intentionally cautious—when confidence is low, it flags uncertainty and suggests what to ask the insurer or vet. Monetization: subscription for households with multiple pets, plus a one-time “claim packet” fee.
