PortionPact

PortionPact is a mobile + web app (traditional + light AI) that plans holiday and celebration food quantities with far fewer leftovers and last-minute store runs. Users pick the occasion (Thanksgiving, Diwali, Eid, birthdays), guest count, appetite level, dietary constraints, and menu style (buffet, plated, potluck). The app outputs a realistic shopping list with weights/units (lbs, grams, packs), a prep timeline, and a “buffer” recommendation based on how risky the event is (kids, big eaters, travel time). A lightweight AI layer can parse a pasted menu or photo of a handwritten plan and convert it into quantities, then adapt portions using past event outcomes (“we had 30% turkey left last year”). It also supports potluck coordination: each guest claims a dish and the app auto-adjusts totals so you don’t end up with six desserts and no sides.
