PortionPilot

PortionPilot is a mobile app (with optional web companion) that turns “family-size” recipes and grocery packs into reliable 1–2 serving plans without guesswork. You scan a recipe URL or photo, then choose your desired servings, dietary constraints, and what’s already in your fridge. The app outputs a scaled ingredient list with practical rounding (e.g., “use 1 egg, freeze the rest of the sauce”), plus a short plan for using leftover ingredients across the next 3–5 meals so you don’t end up with half a cabbage rotting. It also generates a minimal shopping list optimized for small households, highlighting items that are hard to buy in small quantities and offering substitutions (frozen, canned, shelf-stable) that actually work. It’s an AI-assisted app, but with guardrails: it prefers proven conversions and prompts you when uncertainty is high.
