PortProbe
PortProbe is a web app plus lightweight agent that continuously validates container-to-container and service-to-service connectivity in Kubernetes and Docker environments. Instead of waiting for users to report timeouts, it runs synthetic network checks (DNS, TCP, HTTP/gRPC, mTLS handshake, egress to critical dependencies) from the same network namespaces and policies your workloads use. It maps failures to likely causes: NetworkPolicies, CNI regressions, service mesh config drift, DNS/CoreDNS issues, node-level conntrack exhaustion, or cloud security group changes. The product focuses on fast, actionable triage: “what changed, where it broke, and who owns it,” with links to the exact policy, deployment, or mesh rule involved. It also provides a simple “known-good” baseline and alerts only on meaningful deltas to avoid noisy paging. This is not a full observability suite; it’s a narrow reliability tool for container networking.
