PostmortemKit is a web app (with optional Slack/Teams integration) that standardizes incident postmortems and makes follow-through unavoidable. It auto-collects the messy evidence teams usually forget: timeline from alerts, chat transcripts, ticket links, deploys, and key metrics snapshots. It then guides a blameless write-up with structured prompts, checks for missing sections, and converts findings into tracked corrective actions with owners and due dates. The product focuses on the unglamorous part of incident management: learning and preventing repeats, not paging. Expect resistance from teams who already “have a template” but never use it consistently. The MVP should prioritize being frictionless, fast, and auditable. If you can’t reduce time-to-postmortem and increase action completion rates, it won’t survive—because incumbents already handle the rest of the incident workflow.
