POSVATGuard is a web app with lightweight POS plugins that continuously audits sales tax/VAT configuration and transaction data across locations, channels, and product catalogs. It flags mis-mapped tax codes, wrong place-of-supply rules, inconsistent exemptions, and rate changes that weren’t applied—before they become expensive assessments. Connect Shopify, Stripe, Square, Lightspeed, and common ERPs, then run daily “tax drift” checks that compare current settings to jurisdiction rules and your own historical patterns. The app produces a prioritized fix list (what to change, where, and estimated exposure), plus an exportable audit trail for accountants. This is a combination traditional + AI app: AI is used to detect anomalies, classify products into tax categories, and summarize issues in plain language, but the system keeps deterministic rule checks for compliance-critical logic. Realistically, it won’t replace a tax advisor; it reduces preventable errors and rework.
