Users answer a short intake (income types, states, crypto, rentals, small business, prior issues), then get a shortlist of preparers who match that complexity and availability. The app focuses on verification and accountability: it checks PTIN/credential status, flags disciplinary history where available, and requires proof of E&O insurance and engagement letter templates before a preparer can accept a lead. Pricing is transparent: preparers must publish a price range and what’s included (amendments, audit support, extension). Users can request two quotes, compare scope side-by-side, and pay a deposit through escrow that releases only after deliverables are uploaded (return copy + e-file confirmation). It’s not magic—good preparers are busy—but it reduces the odds of getting ghosted or overcharged.
