PreservLog
PreservLog is a web app (with a lightweight mobile companion) for small-to-mid libraries and archives that digitize in-house or via vendors and keep losing track of what was scanned, how well, and where files ended up. It standardizes digitization projects with barcode-based item tracking, capture checklists, and automated quality control on delivered files (resolution, color profile, missing pages, skew, file naming, checksums). It generates preservation-friendly packages (e.g., master + access derivatives) and exports clean metadata for common repository workflows. It’s a combination traditional + AI app: AI is used only where it’s actually reliable—detecting page count anomalies, blur, skew, and basic document structure—while the rest is strict, auditable workflow. The goal is fewer rescans, fewer silent failures, and defensible provenance when auditors, donors, or researchers ask questions.
