PretendCast

PretendCast is a mobile AI app that helps kids and caregivers create short, guided make-believe adventures that feel like a personalized audio show. You pick a theme (pirates, space rescue, fairy bakery), set the child’s name and a few preferences, and the app generates a 5–10 minute “episode” with prompts that tell the child what to act out next. It includes optional soundscapes and simple role cards so siblings can join without arguing over who does what. Parents can set boundaries (no scary content, no weapons, bedtime mode) and save favorites for repeat play. The goal is not to replace imagination, but to reduce the friction of getting started—especially when adults are tired or out of ideas. Offline playback for saved episodes makes it usable in cars and waiting rooms.
