PricePulse
PricePulse is a mobile + web app that crowdsources and verifies the real prices of essentials (rice, eggs, cooking oil, diapers, transit fares, prepaid data) by neighborhood. It turns scattered receipts and shelf photos into a simple “Cost-of-Living Pulse” map that shows where prices are spiking faster than wages. Community groups, journalists, and local governments can use it to detect food deserts, predatory pricing, and inflation hotspots earlier than official statistics. The app includes a lightweight household basket tool so users can compare their weekly spend against local medians and see which categories are driving hardship. This is an AI-assisted app: AI extracts prices from photos, flags suspicious submissions, and summarizes trends, but humans still validate edge cases. Monetization is realistic: sell dashboards and API access to NGOs, researchers, and municipalities; keep the consumer app free.
