PricePulse is a mobile + web app that measures your personal inflation rate based on what you actually buy. Users connect email receipts and loyalty accounts (where available) or scan paper receipts; the app normalizes items, sizes, and unit prices to show true price changes over time. It highlights shrinkflation (same price, smaller size), store-to-store price gaps, and “cheapest equivalent” swaps that preserve brand preferences and dietary constraints. Instead of generic CPI, it outputs a weekly “Purchasing Power Score” tied to your income and recurring bills, plus alerts when a staple crosses your chosen threshold. It’s an AI-assisted app: AI does item matching and unit normalization, but users can correct mappings to improve accuracy. Monetization is a subscription with a free tier limited to a few merchants and basic trends.
