PrintProof

PrintProof helps photographers predict how an image will look when printed on specific papers and labs—before spending money on test prints. You upload an image, pick a lab/paper profile (or import your own ICC), and the app simulates gamut clipping, paper white, black point, and viewing light. It then generates a simple “fix list” (e.g., reduce saturated reds, lift deep shadows, adjust overall brightness) plus an export preset for Lightroom/Photoshop. This is not magic: it won’t perfectly match every printer, but it can reduce the most common surprises that frustrate photographers—too dark prints, blocked shadows, weird skin tones, and oversaturated colors. The MVP focuses on a small set of popular labs/papers and a clean workflow that fits how people actually prepare prints. Platform: web app + desktop helper. Type: traditional + AI (AI for guidance, not for image generation).
