PrintReady

PrintReady is a web + desktop app that helps zine and indie magazine makers prep issues for real-world printing without becoming prepress experts. Users upload a PDF (or export from InDesign/Canva), choose a trim size, binding style (saddle stitch, perfect bound), paper type, and printer requirements. The app runs a preflight check (bleed, margins, image resolution, embedded fonts, spot colors, overprint, total ink coverage) and generates a clear, fix-by-fix checklist. It can auto-fix common issues (add bleed via safe scaling, convert RGB to CMYK profiles, embed fonts, flatten transparencies) and outputs printer-ready PDFs plus a packaging sheet for the print shop. It also stores printer presets so creators can reuse settings issue after issue. This is not glamorous, but it removes the most failure-prone step between “finished design” and “sellable physical product.”
