PriorArtPing is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that helps inventors, indie hackers, and small companies run a realistic “is this already out there?” check before spending thousands on a patent attorney. Users describe an invention in plain language, upload sketches, and pick jurisdictions. The app searches patents (USPTO/EPO/WIPO), academic papers, product pages, GitHub, and standards docs, then produces a concise novelty-risk brief with highlighted overlaps and links to sources. It doesn’t pretend to be a lawyer: it clearly labels results as informational and encourages counsel for filing decisions. The value is speed and coverage, not perfect accuracy. It also tracks search history, creates shareable reports for attorneys, and sets alerts when new similar filings appear. Pricing is subscription plus pay-per-report for heavier users.
