ProduceProof is a mobile app (with optional web dashboard) that helps shoppers choose fresher fruits and vegetables in-store using quick, standardized checks. Users scan a produce PLU or select the item, then follow a 20–40 second checklist tailored to that produce (firmness cues, color ranges, stem condition, smell notes, common defects). The app also lets users log the store, date, and observed quality to build a simple “freshness score” by location and day-of-week. Over time it recommends where and when to buy specific items based on real user data, not marketing claims. It’s not magic: it won’t see inside an avocado with a phone camera. The value is reducing wasted money and frustration by guiding better selection and steering users toward reliably fresher sources. Monetization: freemium, with a paid tier for advanced store analytics and household tracking.
