PromptLedger

PromptLedger is a web app (with optional desktop agent) that automatically captures, versions, and audits prompts, model settings, and outputs across your team’s generative AI usage. It plugs into common workflows (browser, Slack, API calls) so people don’t have to “remember to document” anything. Each prompt run becomes a searchable record with metadata: model, temperature, tools, datasets referenced, redactions, and who approved it. It adds lightweight governance: reusable prompt templates, change history, approval gates for production prompts, and exportable audit trails for compliance reviews. The goal isn’t to generate more content—it’s to prevent costly, embarrassing, or non-compliant AI usage by making it observable and controllable. This is an AI app + traditional app combination: AI is used for auto-tagging, deduping similar prompts, and detecting risky content, while the core value is reliable logging and governance.
