ProofChain is a mobile + web app that creates a verifiable provenance record for pre-owned and vintage jewelry. Sellers (dealers, auction houses, and serious collectors) upload item details, photos, receipts, lab reports, and service history. The app generates a tamper-evident “digital passport” tied to the piece via a QR/NFC tag on the box or paperwork (not the jewelry itself). Buyers can scan to see a timeline of ownership claims, third-party documents, and condition notes, plus a standardized disclosure checklist (repairs, resizing, treatments, missing stones). It also supports escrow-style handoff: the record transfers only after payment confirmation. This is not a magic authenticity detector—it's a trust and documentation layer that reduces disputes, returns, and fraud in high-value resale where paperwork is often fragmented or missing.
