ProofLedger
ProofLedger is a web app (with optional mobile viewer) for government performance dashboards that are actually defensible. Instead of publishing KPIs that no one can verify, each metric is tied to a “receipt trail”: source dataset, query, transformation steps, update schedule, and responsible owner. Teams can publish public-facing dashboards while keeping sensitive source details private, and automatically generate an audit packet (PDF + machine-readable JSON) for council meetings, press requests, and internal reviews. The app focuses on the boring but critical work—data lineage, definitions, and change logs—so dashboards don’t collapse when leadership changes or a journalist asks “where did this number come from?” It integrates with common civic data sources (Socrata, spreadsheets, SQL databases) and flags stale or suspicious metrics (e.g., sudden jumps, missing updates) to prevent embarrassing public errors.
