ProofLine
ProofLine is a web + mobile AI-assisted genealogy research companion focused on one thing: turning shaky family lore into evidence-backed conclusions. Users paste a claim ("Great-grandpa changed his name at Ellis Island"), and the app generates a research plan, pulls likely record sets to check (census, immigration, military, newspapers), and tracks what’s been searched, what was found, and what remains unproven. It doesn’t pretend to be a full family-tree platform; instead it exports citations and a short proof summary you can attach to Ancestry/FamilySearch/your tree. The MVP centers on guided workflows, source evaluation, and clean citation output. This is realistic because most hobbyists get stuck not on building trees, but on resolving contradictions, name variants, and missing documentation. The app makes progress measurable and reduces wasted hours.
