ProofOfRemote is a web app (with a lightweight mobile companion) that flags remote job posts that are likely fake, bait-and-switch, or misrepresented (e.g., “remote” but actually hybrid, location-locked, or contract-only). It works by combining user-submitted evidence (offer letters, recruiter emails, interview notes, location requirements) with automated checks (domain reputation, repost patterns, salary/geo inconsistencies, and cross-site duplication). Each job gets a “Remote Integrity Score” plus a plain-English breakdown of what looks legit vs suspicious. Users can follow companies and get alerts when a firm’s remote policy changes or when a posting is repeatedly edited. The goal isn’t to replace job boards; it’s to reduce wasted applications and emotional burnout by adding a trust layer on top of existing listings. Monetization: freemium with paid verification reports and team plans for career coaches.
