ProofPocket

ProofPocket is a mobile + web app that helps human-rights defenders, journalists, and legal aid teams collect, verify, and preserve sensitive evidence (photos, video, audio, documents) with a defensible chain-of-custody. The mobile app captures media with automatic metadata, tamper-evident hashing, optional witness statements, and offline-first storage for low-connectivity environments. When safe, users can sync to an encrypted vault, generate a time-stamped evidence packet, and share access with a lawyer or NGO via expiring links. It also includes a “panic” mode to quickly lock the app and hide sensitive content. This is not a magic “save the world” tool: adoption is hard, and users face real risk. The goal is pragmatic—make evidence harder to dispute and easier to hand off to organizations that can act on it.
