ProofTag is a mobile + web app that helps resale sellers prove an item’s authenticity and condition without expensive third-party authentication. Sellers create a “Proof Pack” at listing time: guided photo/video capture (serials, seams, tags, packaging), timestamped and hashed, plus optional receipt/email import. The app generates a shareable link and a marketplace-ready bundle (images, condition notes, disclosures) that can be attached to listings on any platform. Buyers can view the Proof Pack, see tamper-evident capture metadata, and request one extra verification step (e.g., live 30-second video prompt) before purchase. This doesn’t magically stop counterfeits, but it raises trust for mid-tier goods where full authentication is overkill (sneakers under $200, streetwear, electronics accessories, handbags under $300). Monetization: seller subscriptions and per-item Proof Packs; optional escrow-style “release on delivery” integrations later.
