ProofTag is a mobile + web AI-assisted authentication and provenance app that creates a transferable “digital passport” for luxury items, starting with handbags and sneakers. Sellers upload a guided photo set (stitching, hardware, serials, packaging) and optional purchase docs; the app runs automated checks to flag obvious fakes, then routes borderline cases to vetted human authenticators. If approved, the item gets a tamper-evident QR/NFC tag shipment (low-cost) linked to the passport, so future buyers can instantly verify the same item without redoing the whole process. The app also stores condition snapshots over time and logs ownership transfers, reducing disputes. This is not a marketplace; it’s a trust layer that plugs into existing resale flows (Instagram sellers, small boutiques, consignment shops, and peer-to-peer). Monetization: per-authentication fee + small transfer fee + B2B subscriptions for shops.
