ProofTrail

ProofTrail is a web app (with optional desktop uploader) that creates defensible provenance records for digital assets—design files, photos, videos, code snapshots, and marketing creatives—without pretending to be a full legal solution. Users upload or connect a folder (Google Drive/Dropbox), and ProofTrail generates cryptographic hashes, timestamps, and an immutable activity log for each version. It also captures lightweight context: author identity, device fingerprint, basic edit history, and optional collaborator attestations. When a dispute happens (client non-payment, stolen creative, internal ownership confusion), users export a clean “proof packet” containing hashes, timestamps, and a human-readable timeline. It’s not a blockchain hype product; it’s a practical evidentiary workflow that helps creators and teams establish a credible chain-of-custody and reduce messy back-and-forth with clients, platforms, or counsel.
