ProofTrail

ProofTrail is a web app (with a lightweight desktop uploader) that creates a transparent “diff + provenance” record between a preprint and its later versions (revised preprint, accepted manuscript, published article). It ingests PDFs/LaTeX/Word, normalizes structure (sections, figures, tables, references), and generates a human-readable change log: what claims changed, which numbers moved, which citations were added/removed, and where conclusions softened/strengthened. It also produces a shareable link and a DOI-ready report that labs can attach to submissions, rebuttals, or grant updates. This is an AI + traditional app: AI proposes semantic diffs and claim-level summaries, while deterministic parsing ensures reproducibility. It’s not a “write my paper” tool; it’s an accountability and communication layer that helps authors, readers, and reviewers quickly understand what actually changed across versions.
