ProtoTrace

ProtoTrace is a web + mobile app for biotech labs that tracks samples, reagents, and protocol steps with lightweight, real-world-friendly chain-of-custody. Instead of trying to replace your LIMS (which is expensive and painful), it sits on top of what labs already do: tubes, plates, freezers, and shared SOPs. Users scan QR codes on tubes/plates, confirm key steps (thaw, aliquot, dilution, incubation), and log deviations in seconds. The system flags common failure patterns—wrong lot, expired reagent, missing incubation time, freezer door-open events—then generates an audit-ready timeline for each sample and experiment. It integrates with basic inventory and exports clean reports for QA/QC and collaborators. This is not “AI that discovers drugs”; it’s operational hygiene that reduces reruns, blame, and wasted weeks. If you can’t prove what happened to a sample, you don’t have data—ProtoTrace makes that proof cheap and fast.
