ProvenanceX

ProvenanceX is a web + mobile AI-assisted due-diligence app for rare books and manuscripts purchases. Users upload listing photos (title page, colophon, bindings, watermarks, seller invoices, auction records) and the app produces a structured “risk report”: likely edition/printing, red flags for facsimiles or married pages, condition notes, price comps from public auction results, and a checklist of questions to ask the seller. It also generates a shareable report for insurers, lenders, or advisors. The brutal truth: most collectors don’t need another cataloging tool; they need confidence before spending $10k–$500k remotely. The MVP focuses on fast triage, not perfect authentication. It will not replace expert bibliographers; it routes high-risk items to vetted human experts (paid add-on) and logs an audit trail of what was reviewed, by whom, and when.
