ProvenanceX is a web + mobile app (AI + traditional) that helps collectors and advisors quickly sanity-check an artwork’s provenance, condition, and market pricing before purchase. Users upload catalog pages, invoices, condition reports, and photos; the app extracts entities (artist, title, dates, gallery, auction lots), builds a timeline, and flags gaps, inconsistencies, and common fraud patterns (e.g., mismatched signatures, recycled COAs, suspicious seller histories). It also cross-references public auction records and known-stolen registries, then produces a shareable “pre-flight report” for insurers, banks, or legal counsel. Brutal truth: it won’t “authenticate” art—no app can. But it can reduce expensive mistakes by catching obvious red flags, organizing due diligence, and standardizing documentation so buyers stop relying on messy email threads and vague assurances.
