ProvenanceX is a web + mobile app (traditional + AI) that helps small museums, local heritage groups, and private collectors capture and verify provenance for objects before the paper trail disappears. Users photograph an item, upload any documents, and the app builds a clean, standardized provenance timeline (owners, locations, dates, acquisition method) with citations. AI assists by extracting key fields from scans, flagging inconsistencies, and suggesting missing questions (e.g., gaps between dates). The app generates export-ready reports for insurers, lenders, donors, and grant applications, and keeps an immutable audit log of edits. This is not a “blockchain for art” fantasy; it’s pragmatic documentation, with optional cryptographic hashing for tamper-evidence. The MVP focuses on speed, evidence quality, and shareable provenance packets that reduce risk and admin work.
