QueryTrail
QueryTrail is a web app (with optional desktop CLI) for teams who run spatial queries and then struggle to reproduce, explain, or audit the results later. It wraps PostGIS/BigQuery GIS workflows in a versioned “query notebook” that captures inputs (datasets, filters, SRIDs), parameters, execution environment, and outputs (tables, GeoJSON, tiles) as immutable runs. Each run generates a shareable link, a diff against prior runs, and a lightweight provenance graph so analysts can answer: what changed, why did counts shift, and which geometry operations were applied. It’s not a new GIS engine; it’s a governance and repeatability layer that sits on top of what you already use. Expect a pragmatic product: limited visualization, strong logging, and export to existing BI/GIS tools. This solves the unglamorous but expensive pain of “we can’t recreate that map/query from last quarter.”
