QuietETA

QuietETA is a mobile navigation app that prioritizes low-stress driving over the absolute fastest route. It scores routes using proxies for driver stress: number of unprotected left turns, tricky merges, complex intersections, frequent lane changes, school-zone density, and historically hard-to-see signage. Users can pick a “Calm vs Fast” slider and set personal triggers (avoid left turns, avoid highways, avoid downtown). The app learns from your behavior—if you repeatedly ignore a suggested turn or reroute, it adjusts future recommendations. It also provides “decision previews” before complex junctions (simple diagrams and lane guidance) to reduce last-second swerves. This is realistic because it doesn’t require perfect real-time AI vision; it can start with map features + historical traffic patterns and improve with user feedback. It won’t beat Google Maps on raw ETA, but it can win on comfort and safety.
