QuietHours

QuietHours is a communication control layer for teams drowning in Slack/Teams noise. Instead of another chat app, it sits alongside existing tools and enforces “attention rules”: who can interrupt whom, when, and for what type of message. Users set focus blocks, escalation paths, and message categories (FYI, Needs Today, Urgent). The app routes non-urgent messages into scheduled digests, converts repetitive status questions into lightweight check-ins, and requires a short “why this needs now” prompt for interruptions. For managers, it provides visibility into interruption load and response expectations without reading message content. It integrates with calendars to auto-enable focus time and with incident/on-call tools to allow true emergencies through. This is a mix of traditional automation plus AI classification/summarization, but it’s designed to work even if AI is turned off.
