QuoteTrace is a web + mobile AI-assisted fact-checking app focused on one high-volume failure point: misquotes and quote-without-context. Users paste a quote (or upload a screenshot), and QuoteTrace hunts for the earliest known appearance, the full surrounding context, and credible primary sources (transcripts, books, official statements). It returns a confidence score, a timeline of occurrences, and a clean “share card” that includes the full citation trail. It also flags common traps: paraphrases presented as verbatim, translation drift, and quote attribution swaps. The product is intentionally narrow—quotes are everywhere in politics, business, and social media, and they’re easier to validate than broad claims. The app is realistic about limits: it won’t “prove truth,” it will show provenance, context, and source quality so users can judge quickly.
