RainCheck
RainCheck is a mobile + web app that helps coaches, captains, and facility managers decide whether outdoor fields are actually playable—before teams waste time traveling. It combines hyperlocal weather nowcasts with ground-condition signals from users on-site (quick photo + one-tap surface rating), plus optional IoT soil-moisture sensors for clubs that want higher accuracy. The app outputs a simple “Play / Caution / No-Go” recommendation with a confidence score and a short explanation (e.g., “standing water reported 18 min ago; drainage poor; rain returning in 40 min”). It also supports automated notifications to teams, rescheduling links, and a shared log for disputes (“we cancelled because…”). This isn’t glamorous, but it targets a real operational headache: cancellations, unsafe surfaces, and last-minute chaos that burns goodwill and money.
