RaptorRadar
RaptorRadar is a mobile + web app that helps birders and field researchers locate raptors more reliably by combining community sightings with local conditions. Users log sightings with time, behavior (soaring, hunting, perched), habitat notes, and optional photos/audio. The app overlays this with wind, thermals, barometric pressure, time-of-day, and terrain to suggest high-probability nearby “watch windows” and vantage points. It’s not magic: it won’t “summon” birds, but it can reduce wasted hours by pointing people to places and times that historically produce sightings. A lightweight AI layer scores sighting credibility (photo present, user reputation, location plausibility) and clusters reports to avoid spam and duplicates. Offline mode supports remote hotspots, and the web dashboard lets clubs and researchers export anonymized data for trend analysis.
