ReadRelay

ReadRelay is a mobile + web app that turns children’s e-books into a simple, repeatable shared-reading routine for busy parents. It syncs an e-book with short “parent prompts” (ask-this-now questions, quick vocabulary explanations, and 30-second discussion cues) that appear at the right moments without interrupting the story. Parents can choose a reading goal (10 minutes, 20 minutes, bedtime) and the app adapts pacing, bookmarking, and recap cards for the next session. It also supports “handoff reading” where a parent starts on their phone and a grandparent continues later, with the same prompts and progress. This is not a content marketplace; it works with supported EPUB/PDF files and select public-domain libraries, avoiding expensive licensing. It’s an AI-assisted app: AI generates prompts and summaries, but parents can edit and save favorites to keep it age-appropriate and aligned with their values.
