ReagentRation

ReagentRation is a web app with optional mobile scanning that helps biotech and academic labs track high-cost reagents, consumables, and cold-chain inventory with just enough rigor to cut waste without turning into a full LIMS. It focuses on the ugly reality: expired antibodies, duplicate orders, freezer “black holes,” and lost aliquots. Users scan barcodes/QR codes, log lot/expiry, assign storage locations (freezer/rack/box/position), and get alerts for low stock, upcoming expirations, and items that haven’t been touched in months. It also generates lightweight purchasing suggestions (not auto-buy) based on historical burn rate and current projects. The AI component flags anomalies (e.g., sudden usage spikes, suspicious shrinkage, repeated re-orders of the same SKU) and suggests consolidation opportunities across teams. It integrates with common procurement workflows via CSV and basic API connectors rather than trying to replace ERP systems.
