RecallCart

RecallCart is a mobile app that helps households avoid eating or serving recalled pantry staples and everyday groceries. You scan a barcode (or type the brand/product) and the app checks it against official recall and safety alert sources, then tells you if your item is affected, what to do next, and how to get a refund or dispose safely. It also lets you save a lightweight “pantry list” so you can run a one-tap recall check across everything you have at home. Notifications are optional and only trigger when a saved item matches a newly posted recall. This isn’t a full pantry management app; it’s a focused safety tool that reduces anxiety and prevents real harm. Monetization is realistic via a low-cost family plan and optional retailer/brand-funded recall outreach (clearly labeled).
